A b o u t
Ever since I was young, I have always been curious with an imaginative mind, so I was instantly drawn into the world of cinema, and the washes of colour and expression it took me to. This fascination led me to photography and I knew I needed to learn as much as I could about how this magic was made. So I spent years learning by working on large productions, with some of the industry's top advertising and fashion photographers such as Mario Testino. The constant honing of my crafted lighting reveals itself in the distinctive style of my photography work.
As a photographer, I am still curious, so to feed my imagination I love to discover the quiet beauty amongst things.
This means I am often collaborating, whether exploring an interesting idea to bring to life or connecting with people, because people are interesting! This has led me to shoot many different people, from professional athletes, dancers, yogis, musicians and many other amazing humans from different walks of life. Through these connections I look to bring some magic to life, to capture something special, something noticed, to show a sense of authenticity, that quiet beauty that is there to be shown.
My personal work has been exhibited in group shows and my first solo show Heat Tonic was in 2018. I have a suite of images in the Wallace Arts Collection, as well as private collections around New Zealand and in Europe.
My creative approach allows me to bring a unique perspective that I apply, including when I have shot for clients nationally and internationally such as Karen Walker, Microsoft, Icebreaker, Sage Group, FrontTier, College of Law, Artisan Collective, DNA Design, Positively Wellington Tourism, Digivizer, Flat Three Productions, Gibson Group and others.
